On May 10th, Jupiter enters Aries. This is one of the most significant transits of the year and marks a major change of pace. Jupiter has been floating atop the dreamy seas of Pisces since the beginning of 2022, cajoling us to meander with it. But no more. It’s time to steer this ship. In Aries, the planet of fortune favors the brave. Think Glenda the Good Witch with track shoes on and a glint in her eye. This placement has serious forward momentum. Here, Jupiter will encourage our growth like a coach. There will be sweating, cheering, some screaming and friendly (but ferocious) competition. Jupiter in Aries wants a win for all. The last time Jupiter blessed this fire sign was in 2011. That means that the last time Jupiter helped out the part of our charts that contain Aries was over a decade ago. With this transit, we’ll be bolder than usual, daring and down to take the risks necessary for growth. Emergence is the name of this game, and we are sure to see the entrepreneurial spirit ablaze in more ways than one. However, this get up and go type of drive does have a downside. Individualism. When we believe our own hype, we distort the truth. It took an entire lineage of humans to get us here: swarms of angels, spirits, and luck we did not earn but were granted anyhow. We are because creation said we could be. For now. May we remember that no matter the victories, defeats, or glory we may be granted. Jupiter will be in Aries from May 10th - October 27th/28th, and then again from December 20th - May 16th, 2023. That’s the better part of a year to find ways to be the kind of firebrand generosity needs now. Since Jupiter will be governed by Mars during its stay in Aries, it's also important to take note of when Mars is in fine form and when it wobbles. From May 24th - July 5th, 2022 Mars will be in Aries, co present with Jupiter. This is an excellent set-up for Mars, and it will therefore fill Jupiter’s tank with the fuel it needs. It may be a moment that feels turbocharged, but it’s the best pocket of Mars time that 2022 offers. It’s not that Jupiter won’t be helpful outside this timeframe, but after its time in Aries, Mars enters the sign it struggles in: Taurus. From there it enters Gemini where it will be for 7 months because from October 30th - January 12th, 2023 Mars will be retrograde. Mars retrograde will definitely create a stickier situation for Jupiter to contend with. All that said, the opening act of Jupiter’s time in Aries will help us make the most impact. Typical for a sign that has us rushing in head-first, only to realize what we initially missed. |
